The first thing to note is that the Holy Spirit is a Person. When we talk about the Spirit, we are not talking about “the force.” The Holy Spirit is different, for example, than a force such as electricity, which is nonpersonal in nature. This is a very critical perspective because the Holy Spirit is often thought of as being a power: He is powerful. But, He is a Person.
