Bamoth-Baal (בָּמוֹת בַּ֫עַל, bamoth ba'al;, בָּמוֹת, bamoth). A location in northern Moab near Mount Nebo, and a station on Israel’s journey from Egypt to Canaan (Num 21:19–20).
Bamoth-Baal (“heights of Baal”) is called “Bamoth” in Num 21:19–20 and “Bamoth-Baal” in Num 22:41. Balak, king of Moab, brought Balaam there to curse Israel. Bamoth-Baal was later one of the cities given to the Reubenites (Josh 13:17). It is possible that Bamoth-Baal is the same as the Beth-bamoth mentioned on the Moabite Stone, where Mesha speaks of having rebuilt it.
