4 aI charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, bwho shall judge the quick and the dead at chis appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant din season, eout of season; freprove, grebuke, hexhort with all ilongsuffering and doctrine. 3 For jthe time will come when they will not kendure lsound doctrine; but mafter their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and nshall be turned unto ofables. 5 But pwatch thou in all things, qendure afflictions, do the work of ran evangelist, ||smake full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now tready to be offered, and the time of my udeparture is at hand. 7 vI have fought a good fight, I have wfinished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 xHenceforth there yis laid up for me za crown of righteousness, which the Lord, zzthe righteous judge, shall give me at athat day: and not to me only, but unto all aathem also that love bhis appearing.
9 cDo thy diligence to come shortly unto me: 10 For dDemas hath forsaken me, ehaving loved fthis present world, and is departed unto gThessalonica; Crescens to hGalatia, iTitus unto Dalmatia. 11 kOnly dLuke is with me. Take lMark, and bring him with thee: for he is mprofitable to me for the ministry. 12 And nTychicus have I sent to oEphesus. 13 The cloke that I left at pTroas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments. 14 qAlexander rthe coppersmith did me much evil: sthe Lord reward him according to his works: 15 Of whom tbe thou ware also; for he hath greatly withstood ||our words. 16 At my first uanswer no man stood with me, kbut all men forsook me: I pray God vthat it may not be laid to their charge. 17 Notwithstanding wthe Lord stood with me, and xstrengthened me; ythat by me the preaching might be zfully known, and that aall the Gentiles might hear: and I bwas delivered cout of the mouth of the lion. 18 And dthe Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: eto whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
19 Salute fPrisca and fAquila, and gthe household of Onesiphorus. 20 hErastus abode at iCorinth: but kTrophimus have I left at lMiletum sick. 21 mDo thy diligence to come before winter. Eubulus greeteth thee, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brethren. 22 nThe Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit. oGrace be with you. Amen.
