The name of the final part of the Bible, “Kethuvim,” means “Writings.” Of course, the rest of the Bible also consists of “writings.” What therefore justifies giving the last set of books such a generic name? The answer is a matter of history. In this case, “Kethuvim” has come to serve as a catchall term.
