The great reality, however, is matched by an equally great responsibility. First, there is our responsibility as believers. Three times the writer of Hebrews says, “Let us.” The first time he points to our Godward responsibility; he emphasizes the purity of worship demanded in the Holy of Holies. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water” (10:22).
