The Bible said Adam called his wife Eve because she was the mother of all living. If Adam is a type of Christ and he named Eve, then Christ will of necessity name His bride, or again typology would not be consistent. Note in Isaiah 62:2, “And the Gentiles shall see Thy righteousness and all kings Thy glory: and Thou shalt be called by a new name which the mouth of the Lord shall name.” When Jacob wrestled with the angel, God changed his name from Jacob to Israel, which means ‘Chosen of God’.
