In the case of the book of Ruth, the ultimate solution was present in the second movement, but the third movement delayed resolution with the information that Boaz was a near kinsman. He was not the nearest kinsman and would not be her kinsman redeemer without first offering the opportunity to the relative that was closest to her husband. The ultimate resolution came as Boaz received permission to proceed and did so.13 Another example of this plot dynamic at work in the Bible is the events surrounding
