“pouring out of the spirit” is the pouring out of the “heart” (לֵב Ps 62:9 [8]*; Lam 2:19*) or of the “soul” (נֶפֶשׁ 1 Sam 1:15*; Ps 42:5 [4]*), connoting an unreserved70 unburdening of confidences, an open sharing of one’s thinking and willing, one’s feeling and insight.
