deliver the divine proclamation. Yahweh promises in the proof-saying in vv 12–13a*, in the first instance, that he himself will open the graves, lead his people out of the graves and bring them into the land of Israel, and that in all this he will let himself be recognized. Here it is no longer the image of the unburied bones lying on the field, but that of correct burial, in which the corpse is shut in a cave or in a pit in the ground and sealed off securely from being seized by the living,29
