The Qur̄æan reverently portrays Jesus as the son of the Virgin Mary (the only woman mentioned by name in the Qur̄æan). He is sinless, a servant, an apostle and a prophet, the Messiah, the Word of God, and the Spirit of God. He heals the leper, gives sight to the blind, and raises the dead. Yet He is never more than human. He is not the Son of God, nor did He die on the cross and rise from the dead on the third day. According to the Qur̄æan, God saved Jesus from death on the cross and raised Him to
