The church today too often fosters a shallow approach to the Word. The emphasis is on experience more than truth, and much preaching lifts verses out of context and forces them to fit a preconceived idea. The challenge to the church is to begin giving the Word of God its proper place in the church life. It must not be made subservient to evangelism
