Moses sealed the Sinai Covenant, sprinkling blood on the altar and then on the people, after the people had committed themselves to do everything the Lord had said (Exod. 24:6–8). The Old Testament picture of atonement foreshadowed the reality of Christ’s atonement for us through His own shed blood. We are redeemed from our sins because Jesus gave His life, His blood, for us (Eph.
