When two or more nouns are joined together as a unit, they are said to be “in construct” and generally the second noun defines, identifies, or particularizes the first one. The term “construct” comes from the Latin word construere meaning to “bring together.”1 Example: סוּס־הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ “the horse of the king” These words are said to be in construct. I. GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR CONSTRUCT NOUNS • Generally the second noun determines, identifies, or particularizes
