ζῶσαν. Pres act ptc fem acc sg ζάω (attributive). BDAG (426.5) categorizes this under the definition “to be life-productive, offer life,” but “hope that offers life” seems tautological since the hope here constitutes life in its fulness. Instead, this participle anticipates the emphasis in verse 4 on the permanent nature of what is yet to come, and is thus rendered as “enduring” above (see the similar participial use of ζάω in v. 23 where it forms a doublet with μένω; for more on “doublets,”
