And we are left, post-anxiety, with only God’s realm and God’s righteousness. Because the future belongs to God and because he will be gracious to us in that future, we don’t need always to be calculating for our well-being, our safety, our prosperity, our security, our reputation. All these concerns can be trusted to God. And we are freed to care about other matters, namely the things which belong to God’s future. Our society is beset with terrible preoccupations about the future and our survival.
