In the face of His own crucifixion, the Bible tells us, “he did not retaliate … he made no threats.” What did He do? “He entrusted himself to him who judges justly” (1 Peter 2:23). That means that Jesus Himself had to completely trust God the Father to turn the injustice of the cross into something that could serve the sovereign purpose of God.
