God is King: Understanding an Israelite Metaphor is unavailable, but you can change that!

This is the first attempt in biblical studies to apply the tools developed by theoreticians of metaphor to the common biblical metaphor of God as king. Once we speak of shared images and feelings, the similarities between the vehicle and tenor become extensive; according to some theorists of metaphor, they are infinite (Davidson, 1979:44; Booth, 1979b:174).
