This course will introduce you to the vocabulary, grammar, and syntax of the Greek New Testament. First, you will learn the sounds and symbols of the Greek alphabet. Voice: In English we have two voices, active and passive. Greek has an additional voice called “middle.” Now, this lesson will focus just on the active voice set of personal endings, where the subject is performing the action of the verb. That’s true whether the verb takes an object, is transitive, where you are transferring energy (“throw,” for example; “I throw the ball”), versus an intransitive verb, where you are not transferring energy, that takes no object like, “I stand.” So that’s voice.
