Old Isaac, bent with age, half blind with the years, misguided by parental favouritism, deceived by a scheming wife who in his handsome youth came from far for the love of him, for all the weakness of human ambition and all the intricacy of human expediency now reaches forth groping hands and pronounces Jacob’s blessing, not upon Esau as he thought, but upon Jacob, according to mighty divine plan!
