As a result, it is increasingly common for students to obtain a PhD in biblical studies without ever having seriously engaged in dogmatic theology and vice versa. By publishing two books, one by a biblical scholar and one by a theologian, IVP Academic is doing its part to bring the two disciplines closer together (or, as I hope, to render the very distinction obsolete).
