Besetting sins are habitual sinful behaviors or attitudes that victimize and enslave people. When you are a victim of a besetting sin, you do not clench your fist in the face of God and transgress His purpose; you are helpless and broken before Him because of your sin. A besetting sin makes you a slave and takes away your will. You cry out, “I can’t help myself!” As one person said,
