God’s Clear Voice, 3:5–10 Three powerful ideas came out of John’s preaching: (1) Repent. “Then the people of Jerusalem and all Judea were going out to him, and all the region along the Jordan, and they were baptized by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins” (3:5–6). Preaching about repentance is not popular these days. We consider the Ten Commandments optional, but we take seriously “Thou shalt not judge.” If you preach “Thou shalt not judge,” you buy a little space for your own sins.
