The content of Rahab’s confession justifies its central place in the story. She rehearses the might of Yahweh: ‘For we have heard how Yahweh dried up the waters of the Sea of Reeds before you when you came out of Egypt and what he did to the two Amorite kings on the other side of the Jordan—to Sihon and Og—whom you destroyed’ (v. 10).
