No person is justified in doing good simply on the grounds of expediency. To be sure, we should do good. Good deeds are to be done from a right motive as well as toward a proper goal. They are not be done to call attention to the person’s goodness or piety but as an overflowing of God’s goodness as He expresses it through His children.
