True Wisdom (1 Cor. 2:6–9) Since unbelievers are prone to write off Christianity as foolish nonsense because it rejects human wisdom about spiritual matters, Paul insists that it is the true wisdom. He writes, “Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature” (1 Cor. 2:6). “Mature” (in Greek, teleios) does not refer to a special group of elite Christians.
