Here we see another example of the foolishness of one “who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God” (Luke 12:21). The pride which is spoken of here was also manifest in Satan; thus, this is a natural set up to speak of Satan and his pride. The transition comes in verse 11 with the break in the prophecy indicated by “moreover.” Ezekiel is not talking about a mere human. Verse 13 says, “You were in Eden,” and in verse 14 the subject of the prophecy is called “the anointed cherub who
