Josh 7:26; 2 Kings 23:26) and consequently from the disciplinary actions which would have ensued. More relevant to the Gospel usage are those instances when it is used to describe the “turning” of people away from sin. Thus, Solomon prays to God that he will respond in forgiveness* and graciousness when the people “turn” from their sin and pray (1 Kings 8:35). Conversely,
