In Philo these powers are frequently characterized as the creative power and ordering or ruling power of God. In commenting on Exodus 25:22, Philo describes the ark of the covenant, identifies the two cherubim with the two powers of God, in whose midst is the Logos, and goes on to say: “And from the divine Logos as from a spring, there divide and break forth two powers.
