Although the concept of humanity’s creation in the image of God is vitally important, its exact meaning has always been controversial (Ch. 1). Accordingly, the discussion here has begun with a consideration of the clearest affirmation about the image of God in the Bible—Christ “is” God’s image (Ch. 2).
