Karl Barth once wrote that the Trinity is God as Lord of salvation “three times over.” God is Lord of salvation as the Father, as the Son, and as the Holy Spirit. To be the Lord of salvation is to be the only one who can save. It means that salvation comes from none other, that no one else has the capacity to save.
