I did not want common grace to be interpreted as a sort of natural theology. When Dr. S. J. Ridderbos criticized my view, he failed to understand this point. He did not take into consideration that common grace in the context of the Reformed scheme of things means something radically different than common grace means in a Roman Catholic scheme of things. I wrote a separate pamphlet on Common Grace and Particularism [1952.A] in order to point out that it is not the Roman Catholic or the Arminian but
