III. Philip in the Desert: the Ethiopian Eunuch. vv. 26–40. In the midst of this successful evangelization of Samaria, the Lord now calls upon Philip to leave it all and go on a mission trip. “But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, Arise and go toward the south on the road that leads from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is desert” (v. 26).
