The second cycle, marked off from the first by the editorial suture, “then I said,” moves from three oracles of reproach threatening to dismantle Jerusalem for its failed leadership (3:1–12) to a number of diverse oracles promising the nation salvation “in that day” (4:1–5:14[4:1–5:15]).
