Counseling is especially interested in the healing of damaged, sinful image-bearers who don’t resemble God as much as they could. And so Christian counseling, pastoral counseling, is interested in thinking about how to help promote the healing of our souls so that more and more we can come to manifest the glory of God, be more like Him, manifest His character more and more. And really that’s what counseling seeks to do. That’s dedicated to the glory of God.
