The Bible Sense Lexicon enhances Bible search and provides a means for exploring meaning in the Bible by grouping words and other lexical items by meaning into thesaurus-like entries. These thesaurus-style entries are then arranged into various kinds of relationships with the most important relationship being hierarchical. These entries are also used to annotate the biblical text.

for the word “house” (or the near Hebrew or Greek counterparts) in the text of the Bible. This search would turn up results for literal houses (i.e., “Abraham went to his house”), the temple (i.e., “the house of the Lord”), a family (i.e., “the house of your father”) and a person’s descendants (i.e., “the house of David”) among others.
