“Going the extra mile.” These three examples are illustrations (not regulations) of a single principle: nonretaliation. It is probably neither advisable nor possible to absolutely apply any of the three illustrations. The motive to do so is, without a doubt, admirable. But the absolute application of nonretaliation, without reasonable consideration, probably honors neither Jesus or this text.
