It is not surprising to find that the Hebrews were the only ancient people who were taught the Earth was round and not flat. The Hebrew word khug is translated “circle;” however, a more exact connotation would be “sphericity” or “roundness.” (See fig. #3.) When He established the heavens, I was there, when He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep (Prov. 8:27 NAS). It is God who sits above the circle of the earth (Isa. 40:22 LB). Though the book of Isaiah was written approximately
