Matthew Maury was an officer in the U.S. Navy in the early 1800s. He was in charge of the charts and records used by Navy ships. One day when he was sick in bed, his wife read to him from Psalm 8. When he heard the words, “the paths of the seas,” he wondered how that could be. But he decided if God said so it must be true, and he set out to find those paths.
