It must be understood that ocean tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon. Tides cause both the rise and the lowering of waters; they can also raise, move, and ground driftwood at or near high tide. The Ark was like a gigantic piece of driftwood ground on the side of Mt. Ararat. (See fig. 85.)
