The theory of evolution, like creation, is a philosophy, not a science. It cannot fit into the scientific method of observation and verification. In this volume both theories, however, are viewed as models and tested with the available evidence to see which more accurately explains origins.

According to scientific creationism, the evidence indicates: 1) the physical universe, life, and the original kinds of life were created during a past creation period by a creator; 2) the originally created kinds have been very stable, although there is wide variation within each basic kind; 3) the law of entropy (death and decay) generally applies to the solar system and living organisms; 4) catastrophism dominated and shaped the geologic column, and this includes at least one worldwide flood.
