5. The Expounding of Parables (Mark 4:34) “When they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples” (Mark 4:34). This takes us back to verses 10–12 of this chapter in which the disciples inquired regarding the meaning of a parable, thus demonstrating their desire to know spiritual truth.
