An introductory course in the science of missions. It is a survey of the theology, history, and methods of Christian missions in general and within the Assemblies of God. There is a special emphasis on recent developments, crucial issues, current trends, and missions as they are carried out through national and local churches.

Peter is not speaking of missionary activity as hastening the coming of the Lord. In fact, verse 10 states, “The day of the Lord will come like a thief” (2 Peter 3:10). One does not determine the day a thief will appear. Further, as Peter urges in verses 11 and 14, the issue is that of personal conduct. Each is urged to be found holy and blameless at the time of Christ’s appearing. Peter’s statement may be a veiled reference to the days of the Exodus when the refusal of the Israelites to obey the
