1) the absence of condemnation—v. 1 Anytime you encounter the word “therefore” in Scripture you must ask what is the “therefore” there for? In this instance, it does not logically follow from 7:14–25. Paul cannot be understood as saying: “Because I am enslaved to sin, therefore I am no longer under condemnation”!
