When you interpret the Bible, there’s something that should be ringing in the back of your ears as you do your study, no matter where you are in the process—and that little refrain should be, “Context! Context! Context!” because how you execute working with the context, and handling that best, is going to determine the quality and the accuracy of your Bible study. So knowing what the setting is for the passage and how it’s operating is extremely important in interpretation.
