Anointing. While the word has several meanings in the Bible, it always revolves around the idea of the Holy Spirit and His power to change human lives. Each of us has an anointing or a special gift from God. Using it properly is the key to creating what is good, blessing and encouraging others, edifying ourselves, and pleasing the Lord.

“gifts” in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11. The Greek word charismata really means “grace-gift.” It is God’s gift, which He graciously bestows on those who don’t deserve it. The difficulty is, ambition gets into the picture and some don’t like it if their own anointing does not result in a high profile. Paul compared these grace-gifts, which I am calling anointings, to the parts of the human body. Now the body is not made up of one part but of many.
