With the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, it was determined that the Septuagint text reflects a different Hebrew tradition. Two (4QJera [4Q70], 4QJerc [4Q72]) of the three fragmentary texts discovered at Qumran supported the MT tradition, but the third (4QJerb [4Q71]) agreed with the Greek tradition in both brevity and arrangement.
