In my view this kind of evidence broadly supports the relatively early date that I advocate. My interpretation of Deuteronomy is based on the assumption that the picture of Israel’s ancient covenant with Yahweh is realistic (not only with Kline and others, but also, in general terms, with Day [1986b] and Andersen & Freedman [1980]).
