I have dwelt on Deuteronomy’s relationship with the prophets at this early stage in order to try to orientate the book in the most appropriate way to the traditions of Israel. In doing so I have passed over many questions regarding the authorship and date not only of Deuteronomy but of the various parts of the prophetic books.
