CONCLUSION As we have presented the results of our investigation into the techniques of writing conquest accounts in the ancient Near East and Joshua, we have clearly recognized that they are not final and that much more work remains to be done. We have only ‘scratched the surface’. This study has shown that one encounters very similar things in both ancient Near Eastern and biblical history writing.
