Basically Jesus was saying, “Go back and tell John it’s happening. Tell John that what he’d been prophesying, believing, and praying for—the very reason for his call—is happening.” John never got out of the prison, but he did get out of that prison of doubt. He knew from that moment on, it’s happening.
